2歳で里子として迎えいれたけんた。4歳になり、ある雨の日に突然こう言った。

「ママ、僕はどこから来たの？ママのお腹から産まれてきたんだよね？」

私は少しどきどきしながら答えた。

「ママはね、なかなか赤ちゃんが産まれなくて、はやくけんちゃんに逢いたいなって思っていたの。毎日、神様に『けんちゃんに逢わせてください。』ってお願いしていたのね。そうしたら、けんちゃんがパパとママのところに来てくれたのよ。」

けんたは目をまん丸にして叫んだ。

「え〜っ！！！僕、ママのお腹から産まれたんじゃないの？！」

そしてうなだれて小さい肩を落とした。

「僕、ママから産まれたんじゃないんだ…。」

4歳のけんたが自分の出生に関心があること、そして、私から産まれていないという事実を彼なりに衝撃をもって受け止めていることに私は驚いた。

なんと言っていいかわからず見つめるしかない私に、けんたはこう続けた。

「でも、ママは僕のママだよ。ママが一番かわいい。僕、ママが大好きだもん。」

こうして、私たちは日々親子になっている。

Kenta was a 2-year old kid when we welcomed him for our foster child at home.  When he became 4 years old,  he bluntly questioned to me..." Hey, Mom, where did I come from?

Did I come down from your belly, didn't I ?"

While my heart got beating much faster to the question, I tried to invent my side of the story.

"Well,  you know...I haven't been blessed with a baby for quite some time.

  I started longing for seeing you, Kenta-chan..Since then, everyday I begged God  to ask  "Let me meet Kenta-chan, please". Lucky enough, you came all the way to our place-your Dad and Mom...

Kenta somehow shouted to me with his round eyes popped up.

"Come on, Mom !  I slided down to this world from your own belly, right ?"

....After my short silence, his head drooped and his two little shoulders looked dropped down with disappointment.

"Me...I....Kenta was't born by you.......?"

To be honest, I was quite surprised to know the fact that he, at only 4 years of age, is interested in his own birth and  somehow tries to interpret to swallow the matter in his own way even with this emotional shock.

While I lost my words stunning with this situation, I couldn't find any other way but to stare at him absent-mindedly....After a while, Kenta continued saying to me......

" Well......Don't worry, Mom...You are my Mom in any way. Mom, you are the cutest of all. I do love you, Mom"

--------To make a long story short, we are becoming united and making our parents/child bonds closer and tighter day by day.
